Welcome to my blog site! My name is Jacob Orshalick. I am an independent software consultant, open source enthusiast, and author. I am also the owner of Focus IT Solutions an independent software consulting firm.

I aid clients in developing cutting edge software solutions to meet business needs and recently have been actively involved in the JBoss community. I have over eight years of software development experience and have spent much of that time developing or extending web frameworks for my clients. I have a Masters degree in Software Engineering and am currently all but dissertation toward my Ph.D in Software Engineering.

I have a wonderful and understanding wife (Jennifer) and a miniature dachshund named Chloe. I enjoy mountain biking when I have spare time.
